Product Report: Mason Pearson Hairbrush

Tireless, exhaustive investigative research by The Cherry Red Report has concluded that hairbrushes produced by the venerable Mason Pearson company in England are among the world’s very finest. According to the company, Mr. Pearson invented in 1885 a “pneumatic rubber-cushion hairbrush.”

What exactly a “pneumatic” hairbrush is, I don’t know. But I like the sound of it.

Be that as it may, due to the prohibitive costs of a Mason Pearson, I currently own a lowly “Conair” paddle brush. Someday, a Mason Pearson shall be mine, pneumatic or not!

  1. Is your Conair brush made of plastic? I recommend a nice wooden one if you can find it. Nothing else has the same sting as wood and plastic can crack too easily. Not that I know from experience or anything … *cough*. 😉

  2. In the backpage interview in the London Evening Standard magazine last friday, UK Model Kelly Brooke said that the one thing she always made sure was in her bag was a Mason Pearson hairbrush. This was illustrated with exaclty the picture used here.
As I’ve only encountered them in a spanking context, that’s what I always think of when I see one mentioned.
The Standard also recommended one as an ideal gift for a young woman this past Christmas.

  3. I have a nice Conair wooden paddle brush…very inexpensive and very EVIL…I highly recommend one!!!
