Let it Whip: Favorite Kinky Songs?

Killer kinky funky tune: “Let it Whip” by The Dazz Band.

In light of Janet Jackson’s latest album release, entitled “Discipline,” which my local newspaper derided as “digitized porn,” I thought it was time for a kinky-music related post, asking readers to offer up their favorite naughty spanko-related tunes.

Perhaps Madonna’s “Hanky Panky”? “Smack That” by Akon? And keep in mind there is a DJ Spank Rock, though his devilishly creative hip-hop creations seem decidely un-kinky.

Personally, I’m something of a music geek. I hang out in the acoustic guitar room at Guitar Center for fun.

I’ve dabbled with acoustic guitar and fingerstyle blues; blown a lot of blues harmonica; and recently bought a cherry-red colored ukulele.

In a rare moment of musical whimsy, I bought a new 45 record (gasp!) from a local rockabilly band, though my last record player was a Sears special that went to the Salvation Army 20 years ago…

That’s the second 45 this blogger ever bought. The first was Chaka Kahn’s funktastic classic “I Feel For You” that was purchased in the mid 80’s.

Anyway, enough rambling on and now to the point! Since this is a spanking blog, I’m curious as to what readers’ favest kinky-themed songs are? Comments and feedback are welcome and encouraged as always.

My fav is the killer classic “Let it Whip” by the Dazz Band, a sizzling, hypnotic, driving funk tune which features one of the tightest bass lines ever recorded.

What a perfectly produced tune. Just hit “Play” above and give it a spin.

According to All Music Guide:

Once the group veered away from the more melodic, pop-oriented dance music that dominated their debut and started playing a tougher, more groove-oriented funk, the Dazz Band began racking up the hits. “Let It Whip,” taken from their second album Keep It Live (1982), reached number five and won a Grammy Award for Best Performance by an R&B Vocal Duo or Group.

Another kink-related tunes that come to mind is the recent club banger and headache-inducing “Smack That” by the allegedly talented Akon, a song of dubious distinction that I saw performed live by a local hip-hop band that, nonetheless, had women climbing on stage to shake it on down. Wish I had a camera that evening.

Anyway, keep on listening,
DJ Cherry Red D-

not sure if this counts as it is not directly kinky but it does symbolise the “keeping your mouth shut” life style, that all of us have to adopt at some point (usualy several points) in our lives.

Our Lips Are Sealed by Fun Boy Three

you might have guesed, I was an 80’s youth.

I too was a child of the 80s and grew up listening too Madonna and loving her openness about her sexual kink. A couple of her songs come to mind, one was already mentioned Hanky Panky. But another couple are Bad Girl and Human Nature..

Like all the ones mentioned. I’ll never forget the first time I heard Madonna’s Hanky Panky on the radio though. To a middle schooler, it was a secret guilty pleasure.

Of more modern songs I can’t help but think Sexy Back is up there. Yes, I know it is cheesy but darn it, it is catchy and danceable.

Also, the song Bubbly by Colbie Caillat. Not traditionally spanking focused but if you listen closely to the lyrics, it has almost ageplay like overtones. Wrinkled noses, kissing her nose, tucking her in…….Love that song. Very simple but then often the best songs are.

How about Van Halen’s “Spanked” from their 1991 “For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” album!

  5. Dave says:

Wow lots of awesome ideas–thank you!

Fun Boy Three? hm. Not familiar with that one.

Nor ‘Bad Girl’ and ‘Human Nature’ by Madonna(?).

Yes, SexyBack is an incredible tune, peachie, and not at all cheesy. It has a similar groove to some Michael Jackson tunes. Will have to check out that song “Bubbly” you are referring to–sounds very intriguing!

Ah yes “Spanked” by Van Halen, but that’s VH minus David Lee Roth, so not real VH in my humble opinion 🙂

“Fun Boy Three” where a breakaway band from “The Specials”, they where one of the few bands from the 2 tone ska revival period (late 1970’s in the UK, don’t know if you had that across the pond) that made it into the 1980’s. For the love of God don’t ask me about any music after the 80’s , I havent got a clue.

Let’s see–Madonna’s song, of course, is the first one that always comes to mind, since it comes right out and mentions spanking, instead of having the lyrics tiptoe around it.
Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders on the “Pretenders II” album let us know that “Bad Boys Get Spanked”.
Before the Mellencamp, John Cougar told us that it “Hurts So Good” (Sometimes love don’t feel like it should…) The song isn’t necessarily spanking related, but it sure could fit in.
And the aptly named The Kinks had a song called “Headmaster” on their “Schoolboys In Disgrace” album. The cover was a drawing of a bare-bottomed lad in school uniform, his bottom red and glowing, while the shadowy figure of a cane-wielding Headmaster stood in the background. The final line of the song has the shoolboy saying, “Please don’t make me take my trousers down”….

The rapper Ludacris seems to be a kinkster. His songs “What’s Your Fantasy” & “Splash Waterfalls” both have kinky verses.. Here’s the links to the lycirs to those songs if ya’ll wanna check em’ out..

The Pretenders had a song called “Bad Boy’s Get Spanked” that was pretty good.

  10. Abby says:

Well, this is going to disclose both my goth roots and my once-obsession with “Boxing Helena,” but two that are more BDSM flavored but were still sexy when I was a teen would be the following:

Leather Strap’s “Strap Me Down,” which I owned on the Cleopatra compilation “Mysterious Encounters.” I can make this slightly cooler by noting that I bought it when I was sixteen and in Germany. (And less cooler again by noting that it was on a trip with my school orchestra.) But still, the band was called Leather Strap! How can a young spankophile go wrong?

Now, on this one, everyone feel free to laugh at me–it’s the “Violent Remix” of Enigma’s “Sadeness.” Seriously. All kinds of whipping happening in that, though mostly male screams, so far less sexy than if it had been, say, Sherilyn Fenn (with all her arms and legs).

    Whip it good,
    Abby

  11. MarQe says:

The Stones have a number of S&M related titles and references ….. “When the whip comes down”, “Hey Negritta” and of course “Brown Sugar” ….. “hear him whip the women just around midnight …. whoooooooo!!”

  12. emily says:

How can we forget Devo’s “Whip It” hehe!!

There’s not any spanking related lyrics that I can recall but Master of Puppets by Metallica is definitely a song Im sure some of us kinksters can relate to..

    emily

  13. Dave says:

    Excellent submissions, everyone! Thank you.

The most obvious ones I forgot about is Devo’s “Whip it” and the Stones “When the Whip Comes Down..

  14. cookie says:

ying yang twins have a song called “pull my hair” but it is pretty graphic and dirty. another one by xibit is “spank me choke me pull my hair”. they are more for BDSM with spanking involved and mentioned in both.
